Welcome to the consultation website regarding proposals for a high quality housing development on land at Brook Cross, Hambrook.

The district of Chichester has a pressing need for new homes, having identified a shortfall in housing delivery, and the District Council is currently reviewing the Local Plan to ensure the homes that need to be built for local people are being delivered. The Council has been proactive with this and is currently utilising an ‘Interim Position Statement for Housing’. This is a development policy which allows for residential development to come forward, subject to a number of criteria. With this in mind, Reside Developments is investigating the site's potential for up to 86 dwellings. 

This website aims to share information with you and provides an opportunity to contact us – as we actively encourage members of the local community to provide feedback, ask us any questions and share their ideas using the feedback form on this website. 

Consultation Process

The on-line consultation took place on Monday 24 May 2021, where attendees could meet
the project team and learn about the proposals for the development and ask questions.

Planning history

The site falls within the administrative areas of Chichester District Council and West Sussex County Council. At a Parish level, the majority of the site falls within Southbourne Parish, with the access and small part of the site within Hambrook Parish. The Development Plan for Chichester currently comprises the Chichester Local Plan, adopted in 2015, and the Site Allocations DPD, adopted in 2019.
